with the Haarlem Living Room, Hans not only created an exhibition with work by amateurs, professional and international artists and designers. He lived in the exhibition all summer; he had a kitchen, a living room, a dining room, a bedroom, a study and a front garden. Each visitor was welcomed like a family member or close friend. The Living Room was open to all Haarlemmers and functioned as a café, stage for music and poetry, cultural center and meeting place. Every day there were several performances by singer-songwriters, poets and visitors could participate in workshops
The Haarlem Living Room was a real Living Room, everything could be used and touched
